Why You Should Go: Since the dawn of society, the upper crust has enjoyed their wine and cheese with a raised pinky and perhaps some red-stained lips. Join the high ranks with informative and glass-tipping courses with the Proud Wineaux.
What You Should Know: Owner and resident wine expert Jaye started her career in the culinary industry at the young age of 13, working in such high end eateries as Tom Colicchio’s Craft-Dallas, No-Bu at The Crescent, Dean Fearing’s The Mansion on Turtle Creek and Jean Georges in New York. Her skillfully developed wine palate, love of gourmet bites and enthusiasm for ‘wining down’ will have you classing it up with every glass you toast.

Maybe it’s her experience at Craft Dallas, Nobu, and Jean Georges. Maybe it’s that she can tell if a wine comes from the right or left bank of Bordeaux with her eyes closed. Whatever it is, New Yorkers can’t get enough of Jacquey at Proud Wineaux.
A little bit (wine) country and a little bit rock ‘n’ roll, Jaye puts the fun back into teaching the fundamentals of wines and wine pairing. If you’ve ever shied away from wine because of the intimidation factor, fear not. Jaye teaches you to trust your palate—before you know it you’ll be a proud wineaux in your own right.

Alexander Fleming, the inventor of penicillin, once said, "Penicillin cures, but wine makes people happy." And what makes people even happier than a glass of wine is a glass of wine with perfectly paired cheese. Treat yourself to an evening of vino and veritas with today’s deal of a wine-tasting class with cheese pairings from Proud Wineaux.
At the start of each 60-minute class, groups spend 20 minutes sipping wine as they get to know their instructor, Jaye, a Texas-native and graduate of the International Sommeliers Guild's Certification program. Jaye as over a decade’s experience in the food service industry and has worked at some of the most renowned restaurants, including Dean Fearing's The Mansion on Turtle Creek, Tom Colicchio's Craft-Dallas, No-Bu at The Crescent and Jean Georges in New York City. She will discuss regional flavors, serving techniques and how to determine a wine’s taste from its bottle while sampling perfectly paired tapas and cheeses.
Take your next wine night to an entirely new level and impress your friends with your sommelier’s knowledge courtesy of the Proud Wineaux.

Because I’m a wine lover, I know a few things about wine and sometimes I think I know it all. Believe me, I do not! And thanks to a House Special’s deal, I got to take a class to learn just how much I didn’t know. So, whether you’re a newbie or a self-proclaimed expert, if you live in NY and are looking to expand your horizons (or perhaps as a great Valentine’s Day idea), I urge you to get the deal for Proud Wineaux(pronounced Wine-O).
The class is made up of about 20 people and taught by Jaye, one of the youngest Sommeliers I’ve ever come across. But what she lacks in age, she more than makes up for in experience and knowledge, having worked at Dean Fearing’s The Mansion on Turtle Creek, Tom Colicchio’s Craft-Dallas, No-Bu at The Crescent and Jean Georges in New York City. Not too shabby.

American Express Women Interest Network (WIN)

We were elated to help the intrepid ladies of American Express' Women Interest Network become Proud Wineauxs one sip at a time! The exclusive speaker on entrepreneurship and conductor of the specialty wine tasting of the year over 150 employees expressed interest in the tasting event. A pleasant detour from the financial center and cubicle life, our tasting featured 3 of the most highly rated, esoteric boutique wines in the world paired with gourmet cheeses and a fruit platter so beautiful there was relunctance to pluck a grape.
With a plethora of questions regarding the class, the wine and the engaging President of the company, we consider this event one of our greatest successes to date. We are elated to have partnered with American Express to bring the Proud Wineaux experience full circle!
